Harley-Davidson & Vintage Motorcycle History brings together factory history, historic motorcycles, riders, travel, culture and archival photography from the early decades of motorcycling. Harley-Davidson is central to the collection, but the archive also documents Indian and other manufacturers, unusual machines, inventions and the people who shaped old-motorcycle history.
The articles range from factory photographs and model development to cross-country journeys, women riders, biker culture, advertising, accessories and unusual historical episodes. Together they provide a broad, multi-brand view of motorcycle history while leaving military, police, firefighting and racing subjects to the site’s more focused collections.
