Harley Half Track

Another interesting Harley-Davidson based motorcycle from Japan.  This vehicle was supposedly a gun platform built before WWII.  Two wheels have been added to the rear end to allow for the use of a single track similar to a tank or bulldozer.

Upon closer inspection, it is obvious that parts were used from a couple different Harley models to create the rest of the motorcycle.  The front end is from a J-series, either '28 or '29 since it has a front brake.  The power plant is from a later V-series, probably early 1930's.  An additional lever has been added to the right side, but it is unclear whether it is a modified gear shift or something else.  Frame modifications have made it necessary to mount a custom seat for the driver and the exhaust has been extended as well.  I think my favorite part is the intimidating rubber bulb horn mounting on the handlebars.
